The Coastal Discovery Center is proudly run by The Main-A-Dieu Community Development Association, which was established in 2004.
Services
The Coastal Discovery is open year-round, and offers many different services for everyone to enjoy!
They include a daily Drop-In Centre, library and Fishers' Museum. We also have a Kids Zone, as well as the Give & Take Room.

Summer 2022
Summer programs are underway at the Coastal Discovery Centre. Our Daily Drop-In, commences at 9:00AM and is open until 3:00PM. Drop in with your kids to check out our Kids Zone, and our give and take room is a must see. If you have an item you would like to donate drop it off and take something you may need.
Our summer program Tea-by the Sea has returned this year. Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 - 3:30 you can enjoy delicious homemade treats along with your tea. Online reservations are now available on the "Tea by the Sea Reservations" page.
Our program for digitizing old photographs called Picture This is available. Contact the Centre to book a time to preserve your memories.

About Us
In 2000, the Main-à-Dieu Community Development Association launched a campaign for funding to convert the former Elementary School in the village to a community centre. After a gruelling four year struggle, federal and municipal support was forthcoming and the ‘Coastal Discovery Centre’ opened its doors in September 2004. The Centre has evolved and changed over the past 14 years in response to funding challenges and changing community needs.
